Valve troubles????

Valve troubles????
I got my 03 1200 out late yesterday for a short ride. I rode about 15 miles highway (65mph) then got into town. After about a mile into city riding i started to hear a tick in the front jug at all speeds including idle. I hurried up and parked my bike and made some calls and a friend of mine who is a motor builder said it sounds like it has a valve out of adjustment a bend valve or its dropped a valve. It was to late to get ahold of any of the shops last night and my question is has anyone else had this problem and what kinda damage to my wallet am I looking at?

shouldn't be terribly explensive since you have a friend who's a motor builder, i guess it's time to find out how good of a friend he is....lol sorry about the valve though. As long as its just the valve and it didn't hit the piston or damage the vavle guide, you should be ok on price wise.
