Fuel Map question?
Wanted to say hello, great forum, and throw a couple questions out there to anyone with experience with the PCIII. Just bought my first Harley. 2008 XL1200 Custom. Very clean and well taken care of. It has a python 2 into 1 and a SE breather. The only problem I have is the idle is high sometimes, no pattern rhyme or reason, and its a little irritating. I didnt know it had a PCIII until I started looking and wondering what the previous owner did after adding the pipes and air cleaner, a little more looking and I found it under the ECU, a little more digging and noticed the O2 sensors have been removed and dynojet eliminators installed. So I downloaded the software, dug an old PC cable for my TomTom out and hooked up my laptop to the PCIII to see what map it had. Just having some fun, and getting to know my sporty I quess... I found the following: "M817-021> 2007-2008 Harley Davidson Sportster *Advanced Map*, Bub 7 series 2 into 1 exhaust, Screamin Eagle air filter, Stock ECM, Table 1 is rear cylinder". But this map didnt say anything about O2 eliminators installed, there is a map however from the website.. M817-007> 2007 *Advanced Map*D&D Fatcat 2 into 1 Exhaust, Screamin' Eagle air filter, Stock ECM, Dynojet O2 sensor eliminators installed, Fuel table 1 is rear cyl. I dont know squat about fuel mapping, but the latter seems closer to my bike, with O2 sensor eliminators and it has map corrections at 1000 rpms, where my current map does not change until 1250 rpm, but it didnt state for 2008 models?. Any thoughts? Should I try it? Thanks in advance?
