Default wiring question

Hi everyone,

I want to change the location of the button behind the speedometer, the one you press to reset the odo etc...
I thought the best way to do this would be to splice into the current wire, and place a new button on my handlebars, where I want the button to be.

I was wondering if you think that this is possible, ie can I splice into the wires, and use a second button, effectively leaving me with 2 working buttons?

Thanks,

Lou

I'm sure you can. Just keep the original wires hooked up, expose some bare wire, splice in the new wires and run them to a new switch. Not sure if they make a 3-way toggle or not... I guess they should. I've only ever needed a 2-way. Sounds like a fun mod.

All you will need is a momentary nomally open (NO) push button and some wire, just attatch the wires to the ones going to the push button and you will be able to operate the functions from either location.

Thanks guys,

I'll look for the switch, and a way to put it where I'm thinking, and then I'll go ahead and try it.

Chears,

Lou

Went down to the local "homedepot" equivalent but couldn't find what I was looking for...I guess I'm not sure what I need, if truth be told.
They had a switch, with an exposed button on it. However, when I pressed it, it didn't make a noise, or a click...I figure it might work, but it's not in a waterproof casing, so I don't think it would be safe.

Could someone please point me in the right direction of a switch, online, so that I could order one...

Thanks,

Lou
