Recently purchased a 2007 xl1200 c.Had the dealer intall the slipons.Would like a little more sound. Are there Baffles that can be removed, and if so how would I do that.I am mechanically challenged.Thanks.
Yea I have the cycle shack ones on my iron ( they sound awsome )
Do you have an audio file online somewhere ? I punched the original baffles out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FNvvT-_pA0
Crappy vid, but it gives a good idea, comparing to stock 883 and stock exhaust.
The SE slip ons you installed most likely are the new model EPA compliant pipes. The front pipe baffle cannot be removed - it is attached to a catalytic converter of some type - the rear of the baffle is larger than the pipe exit.
You're best off getting another set of pipes, or going for another non-cat pipe from a 04-05 bike.
My .02 that I found out the hard way... but those BCT baffles sound pretty cool...
