Ok the preload spacers,,
You need a pipe cutter NOT a hack saw.
Pipe cutter(wheel type) will cut even and smooth.
3/4" pvc Is a perfect fit In our 39 mm tubes
SCHEDULE 40 pvc thick wall ONLY,,schedule 20
the common stiff will crush,
40 has the same wall thickness as the springs,,

I live in the UK and find I am getting tied up in pipe specifications! The following is as much for other foreign members as it is for me.
Your Schedule 40 PVC/CPVC pipe has a wall thickness of .113", or 2.87mm (not quite 1/8") and Schedule 80 sounds marvellous stuff at a hefty .154" or 3.91mm.
Here in the UK our Class E PVC-U pipe comes with a wimpish 2.2mm wall thickness, however Class 7 weighs in with some hefty British beef and 4.2mm. Sounds adequate! At 6 metres a length I should have enough for all the SuperLows in the UK.....

Gosh this stuff is expensive! Fortunately I have found a website I can order just one metre (of 3/4" diameter pipe?!). That's more like it. We're on our way.....
