Front forks
Anyone out there try the premium ride double front fork cartridge kit that the Moco sells? Been thinking about trying them - I have a 2012 RGC with Ohlins on the back. Ohlins really helped the rear suspension.
Those are nothing more than a very simple non-adjustable cartridge that has no piston ting to control the piston bi-pass oil. These cartridges were installed into all fairing model 2002~2005 FL's (one side only). For what ever reason the end users of those models chose to remove the cartridge and put the other side with a damper rod like the non-fairing models of that era.
If you wished to do it the cheap way, find a pair of complete cartridges from that era, modify your existing fork tubes as per my movie featuring Amy, than install. You will need a fork oil tool & spring compressor. HD uses these crap cartridges in the XR1200 LA model forks but it is too costly to convert over.
These cartridges will perform poorly as all of the other 41mm suspension solutions currently available. Here is a XR1200 cartridge so you know what you are looking at (the one on the bottom only).
