I have a 2003 sportster with the split vision mirrors and they are so far in to the center of the bike all I get is a nice view of my arm. I can see behind me with the convex portion only.
Has anyone tried the mirror extension kit? I don't want the mirrors to become ape hangers....
First thing I did when I got home form the stealers was change the handlebars, they were to narrow. First I went with a drag bar, and turned the stock mirrors upside down.
For long distances, it was a little to much pull on my back. So I switched to a superbar which had a two inch pullback, and bought some Ergo extended mirrors.
Doesnt look as nice as the pic above, but is better on me ole back.
When I gut the speedo and handlebar mounts, Ill go back to the pic above only with taller risers.
For me at least, the further out the mirrors are the better. I have wide shoulders and narrow set mirrors make it difficult to see. I would recommend a two inch extension if you can.
