Default Grifter box
I bought a little thing called the grifter box. It mounts behind the license plate and has a little key lock. It's not incredibly secure because it's made out of plastic but it works great for storing documents and smaller items. Plus if I ever need to access the papers, I don't have to think about pulling the seat off on the side of the road.

Peter Fonda kept all his important stuff in his handlebars.(easy rider)
get a screw-on left grip ...

maybe an aluminum cigar tube zipped to the frame? The kind of tube that holds fancy cigars.

Under the seat with a quick removable seat screw. Or those cool document tubes, but theirl like $100 bucks.

A ziplock baggie velcroed to the inside of the battery cover.
Just make sure you have already dealt with the battery cover
clip issue : )
