Anyone have a map that improves the way the bike runs.
I have an 09 Sporty 1200 Custom, K&N intake with V&H Short Staggered pipes. Bike idles like crap. Misses constantly cold or hot from idle - 3500+ rpm. Hickups when the revs are low (1500-2000). What a SHITTY Product V&H!!!!!
I'm running the recomended map FP-0681. I've tried calling their tech support. They had me adjust mode 5 and 6 to a lower # which im assuming leaned out the bike and made it worse. I am now back to the FP-0681 #'s
I would say add 5 or so to modes 5 and 6, and see how that does. I had some pinging in the mid range so I added around 10 to modes 10-15 and took care of the problem. Just play around with it a bit.
Just got off the phone with V&H. They gave me a totally different map from modes 18-33 where the original map had no inputs in those modes. I am going to try this new added mode map first and will provide feedback! We will beat this!!!!!
Aside from the new map. I think your spot on with modes 5/6. I was able to squeeze a little info out from the tech. He told me im running 23% more fuel than stock. Mode 5 is 23 but all fuel control is not run by that #. Thats all he would tell me It has to do with throttle position and fuel.
I had one on my 2008 custom and I have side shots on with vo2 and it made my bike run like crap. Vance and Hines told me to take modes 1-8 to 0, which I later found out were stock settings so........After the bike still ran like crap I got pi$$ed and took it right off. Been driving around with the stock computer, bikes runs fine.
I don't see on your mods list if your intake is stock or not. If you have a stock box, the stock ECM settings are fine. The ECM is incapable of automatically adjusting for air. It has no idea how much air is going in. Only throttle position, Inlet air temp, and cyl temp. I say run it rich and ride the damn thing!.

Reason: typo
I am VERY much thinking about it!!!! I have heard so many good things about the X14ied route. I'll give my $250 power pak a few more trys at running right before I sell it.

It must be a hit or miss thing with the Fuelpak, or people just don't know what they are talking about. I've had mine on for 13,000 miles and the bike has ran beautifully. Even put it on a dyno for a dyno shoot out at a rally and it put out 80HP/80TQ with a perfectly rich AFR reading. I've also ran the Fuelpak with 4 different exhaust systems, all different brands, and it has always worked just fine. Vance and Hines is a top notch performance company that wouldn't sell "junk" in my opinion.
