Ive searched the sportster forums for diagnostic codes but all i can find is the spedometer reset button method.

i have an 07 custom that doesnt have that setup and the check engine light has been running constantly after startup

so i was wondering how to get the codes

i know on other models you flick the rocker switch to on, turn the key to on, then off once fuel pump stops, then repeat once more, then turn it on and its suppose to flash codes

but i cant get this to work, everytime the light just stays on

can someone help me out as to how to get the codes or link me if theres a page i missed

 

Try holding in the speedo reset button when you turn it on.

alright i feel like an idiot

i thought my bike for some reason didn't have the spedometer button thinking it was an actual button or something
i just ended up using the backside of a small drill bit to push the button inside the hole
