Winter Prep
Hey all,
For those of you who live in parts of the country where you store your bike for several months in the winter, what do you do to ensure your bike is ready to go when the snow and ice clears.
Bike cover?
Engine?
Battery?
PEST CONTROL!!??

Keep bike on Battery Tender, plug exhaust ends and intake with aluminum foil (to keep out the pests), remove foil and Battery Tender and ride when no there's snow!
Do a couple of searches on the subject 'Winter', there are tons of recent posts on the subject.
Also a lot of discussion on whether to ride occasionally during winter months or not. Lots of good arguments for both sides.
What I've heard and am going by:
Bike cover? Yes, breathable, old bedsheet is best.
Engine? Fresh oil (don't want to store with used, contaminated oil), Fill gas tank (condensation), some use oil derivitive mist on engine/metal to avoid rust (not sure if I'm gonna do this, sounds messy as hell).
Battery? Tender, leave it on all winter. $39.95 at Harley dealership, can be found cheaper.
Pest Control? 12-gauge and good aim. Ain't heard that one before.
Also been suggested to keep bike up/off cold/damp concrete floor if at all possible.
Good luck, do some searching.
