i was looking at some old hd mini apes i have last night and thought, man if you cut out like 3-4 in. from the clamping area and weld them back together they'd be some bitchin lil ape hangers. never liked the width on them as they look wider than the front end but chopped in they would be the **** and prolly would look something like this guy's bars.

If you have any friends in Japan, you can usually pick the part off of the auctions:

http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f99948590

That one's being sold for $13 or so, but he won't do international shipping.

keep in mind those bars are 7/8 and not 1" so pretty sure you'd have to change your stock hd controls.
