w.f.67,

Much depends on your inseam. I am only 5'-1" with a 29" inseam, 110lbs, so when I replaced the stock seat on my 1200L, I wanted something that wouldn't move me up or back. I called Mustang and was told that the wide solo (along with most others) would lift me up, and reduce the bend in my leg and/or amount of foot on the ground.

Riding down the road, I only need to be able to get one foot on the ground, but duck footing a bike in and out of parking spaces, especially in gravel parking lots, is not fun on your tippy-toes.

I ended up with a HD reach (not super reduced reach) seat. It is more comfortable than the stock seat, but didn't move me up, foward or back compared to the stock 1200L seat. Has more support for my lower back too. I don;t like the way the seat looks, but I'm more about the ride than trying to impress anyone.

I purchased a mustang vintage solo seat and it moved me up 1 inch and back an inch. I'm only 5ft. tall and it felt like I was sitting up high and did not like having to be on my tip toes. I sold the seat within a week...

thats funny... now have a wide mustang on my 1200c and if any diff it seems to me to be lower to the ground than either the stock seat or the day tripper. and a huge diff in comfort!
