I'm selling my bike on ebay, and have some questions for anyone experienced with this. the title is in the hands of harley finance folks, and one potential buyer is asking about having it shipped to him, and about payment methods. what is a best way for accepting payment, and how does the title transfer work?
I sold a car before that wasn't paid off and we agreed upon once cash was in my hands I paid the car off and then once the bank sent me the title, I signed it and mailed it to him certified. Took about 2 weeks for that whole process.
Edit: He came and picked the car up though so he had possession of the car while I had his cash, so no real way for either party to get screwed over. Less I called the cops and said it was stolen haha.
thanks! that makes things easier with 2 checks. what type of check is safest...bank draft? and is paypal good for the deposit?
I do lots of business (buying & selling) on e-bay ....I use PayPal exclusively. When "they" pay you the cash arrives into your PayPal account instantly...no waiting. You can even get a PayPal debit card and run your PayPal like a regular bank account. Love PayPal.
If you go the check route it better be a bank certified check or money order ...those are cash money right there....personal checks are worthless unless you want to wait for the funds to clear.
