I got an EZ Pass to make it easier to use the toll roads in the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. I tried to use it for the first time today. I put it in the breast pocket of my mesh jacket, figuring that that wasn't much different that sticking it on a windshield of a cage. The first booth I went through said "Toll not paid." The next time, as I was exiting, I pulled it out away from my body and angled it toward the reader and still the alarms went off.
Today I was able to pick lanes that didn't have gates that had to lift, so I just blew through. But it could be a problem if there is a bar in the way and it doesn't read.
I have no windshield (don't want one). Does anyone have any ideas about where to put the EZ Pass transponder on a Sporty so that it works?

Could also be a defective unit. Lots of em have issues that require it to be replaced. Talk to the attendants next time it won't let ya through and see what they say.
I made a little plastic bracket with these clips i found that fit my bars perfect. I only use it for going over the bridge. Once I'm across I take it off because it looks stupid. But it works.
I tried the pocket thing as well and never could get it to work right, but now I just throw it into my fork bag and it works fine. I do have to be careful to place it in there in the same orientation as it would be on the windshield otherwise it doesn't seem to work.
I can tell you where to not put it... I had mine in one of these mesh bag things and it slid between my forks and my gas tank, couldnt turn my wheel and crashed pretty hard.
Dude just sit up straight and go very slow, I used to do the same but then I got a little tool bag and put it on the fork. Even with it in the leather bag it reads as long as I go very slow.
