Hey guys. I just put on a great looking LED Accent light kit from Florida Joe on my 07 Nightster. I want to make my speedometer blue also. Any ideas? Has anybody put a blue bulb in the speedo or do I have to buy a new already blue speedo? Thanks!
Be aware that of all colors, blue does the most to damage your night vision.
Orange and red (low power end of the visible light spectrum) are the best for preserving night vision, which is why BMW has used amber-orange in their dash illumination since the 1970s.

That's cool and all, but red and amber don't work so well with LED's in direct sunlight!!
I do more day riding than night, so the blue was the better option.
Thanks for the info everybody. I think right now I'm going to open up the speedo and try to match the bulb with a blue one (LED if possible) and see how it looks. Trying to save some money
Isn't the stock speedo slightly orange at night? I haven't ridden at night in a while..
Looked up that Dakota Digital speedo assembly too, $399 :\
Depends where you look, did a quick google search and found some for $329. Still a bit expensive, but very worth it for all it does such as, tachometer, engine temp display, voltage display, gear indicator, and lots of other extras.
