Default Cruise range 883
Hey all,

I was wondering about road-tripping on the 883. How far can you ride on state highways (55-60mph) before you need to start looking for gas?

Standard sporty ?
Custom with the larger tank?

Fuel injected?
Carbureted?

With a passenger?

I have n 883 Custom with a carb and I can go about 175 miles before hitting reserve, that equals out to about 50mpg. Reserve is a gallon so I have another 50 miles to find a gas station. I have yet to have a passenger on the back but with the solo seat I put on I don't think they would find it comfortable anyways.

I have 06 883L with the Peanut tank (only 3.3 gal) At that speed I usually hit reserve around 130 miles. Then you have .8 gal on reserve. That should get you another 35 miles. I've never pushed it too far. Always find some fuel quickly after hitting reserve. Motorcycle boots suck for walking.

3.3 gal tank with 1200 conversion done...125 is where it starts to sputter

I have a 2005 XL1200R with the 3.3 gallon tank, and like harleyxlc I get about 120-125 miles before hitting reserve when riding on the slab...

MY 07 883R goes 110-117 miles at 70 before the fuel low light comes on, 40 miles or so after that before things could get terminal.

2006 883C...I can get about 200 on it before I start looking for gas. I have gone as far as 220 without totally running out.

My 07 1200c fuel light comes on at 147, and I start looking for gas.

The peanut tank holds 2.25 gallons, not 3.3. This is a peanut. I get 55mpg in town. 61 on the hwy.
