Default first "wreck"

Wrecked a little yesterday. Slight rain, pulled a Uturn (shame), rear tire broke loose on the wet pavement, corrected it by not using brake (don't want a high-side wreck), straightened out and my bike met a curb. No tip over or me getting hurt. Only damage was some chrome on the exhaust - scrape. Its the heat shield up front.. slight dent and scratch. not a big deal. but damn. watch that light rain!!

what worries me is that whole control area (rear break, peg) assembly now feels "mushy". like i can push on it with my foot and it moves slightly. although I cannot see why that is.. :/

Seems like I get caught in the rain pretty often lately. I don't like it. Light rain is worse because it pulls oils to the top of the pavement/cement but there's not enough rain to wash it off.

You're either just extra sensitive because of the mis-hap or you have bent or jarred something loose or crooked. Just check all of the fasteners down there. Where the brake rod linkage attaches to the rocker arm that pushes your master cylinder is a bit chincy...that's where I'd look first.

Like mreed said, check your fasteners. My right foot control felt the same way, and the hex bolts were about 1/4 turn loose. Perhaps the impact with the curb stretched the bolts or threads a little. Be sure to use more blue Loctite.

Man, glad you're ok. That is about the best way to learn about light rain. Like Mr. Reed said, it's the worst.

I ride year round, which includes a lot of riding in the rain...just gotta be extra careful.

Ditto. I take it easy when I ride on wet pavement. Just don't be in a hurry to go anywhere

Glad you're OK!!!!

I have found that the best way to get used to riding in the rain is to move to Florida......you get lots of practice.
