How many with saddlebags have the brackets? I want some for occasional use and was wondering if resting on the rear coils for occasional use would be okay.

Resting on shock coils is OK, getting them flung into the rear wheel or drive belt is a no-no if you value your life or body. I use Easy Brackets - quick on, quick off...

Bags101- Throwovers can damage fender paint. some sit at an awkward angle, some won't hold a sandwich let alone a jacket. Throwover standoffs are ugly when bags are off. EZ brackets add $150 and are quick with minimal docking hardware when off. EZ brackets make bags stay 3 inches away from bike. Harley bags look best but at a price. Can be removed but still retain brackets. You must decide how often you'll need them vs look and price. EBAY has a wide variety of new and used.

Heres a rear view of my $38 saddlebags, and easy brackets, gives you an idea of how they hold bags away from da scooter.

Then again, if they look good then maybe you'll want to leave them on

What model are those Chase Harper bags, they're nice, and do you have brackets with them? Or are they just resting against the shocks?

I have the same bags as Olesalt. I think they're the best looking bag on a Custom. I also have the mini-rail sissy bar with pad and when I take longer trips I have a bag I tie to the sissy bar on the passenger seat. Works great.

Sorry. I don't know what model they are. I bought them at Cycle Parts West in Stanton CA. No brackets. They are just resting against the shocks.
