I've never driven a pre-2004 sportster but I have heard they are hell. On high reving cycles where the vibrations will make your hands numb, a common thing to do is to use bar ends of heavy weight to reduce the vibration, the higher weight on the bars gives them more inertia and reduces the vibrations and it worls very well. I dont know if something similar is available for sportsters for the bars or the foot pegs.

when I first got my 06 1200c after trading a 500 ninja, I was afraid the vibrations might require me to buy some isolating foot pegs but I got use to them quickley abd love the bike.

Tough crowd. Who said anything about eliminating vibration? Wife's sporty is q rattle trap wear my teeth were actually chattering. We dont do little rides around town when the bikes are out there out on the hiways. My flh vibrates like a Harley but it doesn't rattle you off and then again it's rubber mounted.
Sporty75 that's the kind of info I'm looking for, question at hand here will longer pull back bars make a difference against her stock shorter bars? Grips etc.
