I have a 2004 Sportster Roadster and I recently installed the Easy Pull. I installed it incorrectly at first and experienced the rubbing on the inside of the primary witha tough lever pull. I reinstalled it and it is great now. I did notice some important issues during the install process:

1) make sure to fully loosen the cable adjuster prior to installation.
2) when installing the ramp back into the primary, make sure to push it all the way in place before putting the tightening nut back in. You will need to rotate the ramp slightly counterclockwise when putting the ramp through the open primary cover. This is where the extra slack in the clutch cable comes into play.
3) when installing the metal ferrule on the end of the clutch cable, place the ferrule on the cable so you can see the metal nub at the end of the cable with the ferrule installed. This will increase the gap between the cable and the inside of the primary. When my cable was rubbing before, I had the ferrule facing inwards.
4) once the ramp is fully installed in the primary, you tighten the clutch adjuster until the lever has 1/16" free play at the lever perch.

That should solve the problem of the easy pull causing rubbing inside the primary cover.
