Went back today. Felt much better on the 48. FYI - Price on a 2011 Sedona Orange OTD is $9,998 + tax. Same price for the 2011 Nightster in blue or two tone red & black. Decision time for me.

It's not the forward controls that get me, its the seat. I love the way it looks hate the way it sits. Just cannot find one with the correct profile for me.

For me it took a long time for the seat to fit me know it is comfortable and I am glad I didn't change it! I don't have long legs and I like the forward placement! Mids are nice if you have to stand up! You could put passenger pegs on so you can put your feet back on the hwy! This works OK for longer rides to get a different sitting position.

The mids on the new XL1200T are 3 inches forward of the normal mid control location. These just might be the mama bear size, not too forward, not too far back. Options are good.

We just bought a 48 for my wife. She's 4'8". So we lowered it 2" I'm putting '72 handlebars on it. So now I need to find some mid controls for it. Where is the best place to get them?I'm willing to trade the forward controls for it.

Got mine off of eBay for $100 (free shipping). I really like mid-controls better but that is just me. Note my signature picture with the mids. They came off a 2014 Nightster that a guy had the dealership put forwards on. The mids were brand new.

That was my issue when I first tried the 48 - sliding off the seat on acceleration. I also needed to be more forward, at 5'2" I felt I was stretching too much with the fowards. I put the HD super reduced reach solo seat on that moves you up 3" - now I find the forwards perfect. The 3" move up really made a difference.

I'm not short, 5'10'', but putting mids on my 48 was the best purchase yet. $65 off of ebay

How did you get the tab right up on the gas tank? We got a saddleman solo for her, but it mounted in the same spot as the oem seat.
