Your bike should be ok. But going that high a revs under no load is harder on the engine than when you are running down the road. Without the load there is more vibration of the internal parts. Saw this in a test one time.
Yeah no worries. I used to hit the rev limiter on my R6 on a regular basis, if you time it right you can shift without using the clutch.
Yup, you can both up and downshift your sporty without the clutch, quite easily if you know what you are doing and when to do it. (other than first gear, that is, and second is difficult to do it smoothly).
The slipper clutch in my vrod makes clutchless shifting effortless, and can be done even more smoothly than using the clutch if you time it right.

I've hit the rev limiter several times over the years. After 65,000 miles I replaced the 883 engine with 1250. There was absolutely no damage in that 883 engine from hitting the Rev limiter.
