I fourth that the horn looks better where it is on the 883. Everything about the 1200's horn location looks nasty to me. HD bent up some pieces of flat stock and hung a tractor horn right where my eyes want to go.
Kind of like a bustier with a giant flower right where I want a peek.

That I agree is the most pathetic thing about a Sportster. The stupid little &^$^%$ horn. It's pathetic in the extreme and just unsafe utter crap. My opinion clear enough?

I think the 883C and the 1200C have a traditional mounted horn on the LH side of the motor. If one wanted to, they could buy all the stuff from Harley and put it on. I was thinking about it.

There's plenty of room on an 883 at the horn bracket for a decent horn, but every time I try to blow the horn (almost never) I usually hit the high beam or the blinker instead. When I do manage to hit the horn it's - Why Bother? No-one can hear the stock horn anyhow.

I've got that big chrome clump-of-a-horn on my Custom. I suppose it's a "traditional" Harley thing. It certainly is loud enough. But I've always liked the 883 horn, except that meager "beep" ain't gonna impress anyone. I guess it's better than no horn at all. That Stebel air horn would be nice (certainly the price is), but where the heck would you put (hide) it on a Sportster?!
