A neighbor has one possibly for sale.$1200.00, stock, with 70 something dual rectangular headlights. Needs a bunch of TLC. Maybe yes, maybe run... thoughts?
As long as you understand your investment will extend beyond 1200 bucks...well beyond in most cases. I never would have guessed the level of attention ironheads demand just to keep them going. I love mine but if it was my only bike I would kick it onto the ground some days.
Old parts mainly but they are littered with issues that have been worked out over the years. Constant valve adjustments, oil leaks, timing...just to name a few.
Don't get me wrong, if you want the true Harley experience that most guys with Sportsters try to achieve then it's the bike for you. I like mine alot. I bitch about it sometimes because Ironheads are not bikes you can just hop on & ride every day.
Thanks all for your input. Am still thinking on it, as is my neighbor. This bike needs a lot of work to get her running, and I'm not in a hurry to seal the deal. Will let you all know. Thanks again!
