Default 08 Nightster electrical problem

I have an issue and wanted to get some different thoughts on the subject. Here's my issue: a few days ago, I went to start up the bike and turned on the ignition switch, as soon as I hit the starter button everything went out - completely blank no electrical. I checked the connection to the positive and went and the bike fired right up. Fast forward to yesterday and the same problem, turned on ignition, had power clicked the starter and all was dead. The weird thing is that by moving the battery a little or pushing down on it power came back. Last night I had to actually push down on the positive side to start up the bike. This morning, same thing. I took off the terminal wires and cleaned them with a wire brush (still thinking this is a possible battery issue) but the same problem. I haven't looked at the negative side yet but wanted some advice of where to possibly look next if all connections are ok. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

One of battery cables may be gone bad.

Negative terminal is loose. Moving the battery creates contact. Tighten it up; it's a stupid flawed design but it does tend to get loose. Make sure you check on it once in a while or you might melt the post like I did.

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping it was just a battery issue. It's my own fault and I'm pissed because I had to drive to work this morning. Thanks again.

Update: came home from work, pulled the battery and tightened the negative cable. . .fired right up. Thanks again for the help X04D!
