Has anybody put these on their bike.If so was it an easy install or do I have to go to the steeler.Pics would be appreciated.Part #46487-00.Thanks in advance.
I say forget going to the dealer. It is an easy job, especially on a bike without headlight nacelle or fairing. You can buy a manual for 50 bucks to use on the this job and later down the road. IMO, anybody with a HD should spring for a factory service manual.
I'm better than ave with a wrench - and have the manual
i say you should be able to do it even if you are not better than ave - get teh manual and read it over a few times - you'll know when yer ready
this is one of the mods I was thinking of - along with a chrome swing arm for the winter blues - Also going to build one of them garage door openers from a 12 volt key ring remote - save $$$ on that one - the other parts I'm plannin on ordering from Chicago Harley - or lookin on e-bay
You get $100.00 credited back for labor if a dealer does them before the 31 Jan 07 (elbow grease program). If the bike is new or low miles, remove the wheel, fender and each fork leg. turn the whole leg assembly upside down and leave in a vice for a couple minutes. Then change out with no fluid mess. Easy as 1 - 6mm allen on the bottom and a new seal.
