picked up my brand new Iron today. Spent all day at the stupid DMV takin' like 8 tests (for my CDL renewal)+the motorcycle written test to get a permit. I've been off a bike for about 25 years, and can't tell you all how excited I was to pick this machine up today. Took a couple of pictures on the way home, hoping to get some better pics tomorrow. What a blast to be on two wheels again, and on a new HD.

Here in LA getting M endorsement was a matter of driving around the parking lot while a lady was watching it from the main door of DMV office. Took less than 3 minutes.
You said you had to do a written test to get the permit? Not the actual M endorsement?

Yeah, if you don't have a license, they have you take a written test. then you can ride during the day, no passenger, no freeways, until you take the ride test, or submit a cert from a rider safety course. I'm doing that course in early December.

Taking the MSF course is a smart move. You're doing the right thing taking it.
Sorry being off-topic, but 8 tests for CDL renewal?
I have CDL class A and I had take no tests when I renewed it. I do not have hazmat nor tanker and I do not drive for living right now, just wanted to keep it.
What tests you have to pass to renew a CDL in CA?

I'm not sure why I had to take all the tests, but I had air brakes, doubles & triples, combinations, hazmat, tankers, class C, class A, and motorcycle. ok, that's 8 total. I spent the last two weeks trying to get out of taking all those tests, but wasn't able to find any sympathy from the commies who control this state. apparently in Ca. you gotta take all the tests if you "upgrade" (get another endorsement). Glad to be done with it.
Man I live that new graphic on the tank !!! I really don't understand why MOCO puts a chrome exhaust on the Iron it's like a sore thumb. Did I already say how much I love that tank?
