Bought some 1/4 in thick flat stock and a brand new dewalt grinder. Stoked. Gonna make me some nifty little mounts for my front blinkers and mount them at the bottom of the downtube at the front of the bike and utilize the two holes already tapped in the frame there.

Hey BMX – I’m sure you’ve been asked before … but what type handlebars are those? I bought a ’96 EVO Springer last weekend for my next project bike, and thinking bars similar to yours would be a nice fit. No pics yet of the Springer, but hoping to ride it home Sunday if the weather is dry. Thx

Pretty sure the majority of the stock wiring is 16ga, I used 14 because it's what I had in my tool box and it was a little thicker.

Holy, 1/4" flat... No worries about those bending, haha... better too strong than too flimsy I guess.

Post some pics when you make some progress.

Exactly hutch, figured it would better serve me to use something I know won't bend or flex, just need a good torch to heat them up and bend them to an L bracket. I almost bought the 1/8" thick slotted flat stock like carilliterte used but it just seemed too flimsy.

Yeah if my brackets were any longer than three inches or so they'd be super flimsy. As the sit they are just right so to speak.

Also, kill switch would be on/off 15 amp toggle and blinkers will be 16 amp momentary switches.

Thanks SF!!!!! Carilliterate, i almost bought the "stop sign looking" flat stock but they only had it in 1/8" thickness and it just seemed flimsy. I need exactly 3" per mount for the front, bend at 1.5" and drill a hole in ea. side, done. the back, well they are already mounted so i'm gonna hold off on those for rt now. Thanks dude!

PS-18g....Thanks again!

I wouldn't trust the stop sign flat stock with a 90* bend so you made the right choice for sure. Mine is probably the 1/8" your talking about.
