Default Lower a bike

Ok I have an 883custom. We have lower the back with new shocks by 2 inches. The front is lower by 2/3 of inch. Seat was custom made so it would be a little lower and closer to the gas tank. Now I do ok with it but would like to have it lower even more. Maybe another inch or so. Any ideas?

How about some lowering blocks? I use Tamarack and know a few others that do without any issues. They typically come in 3/4" and 1 3/4" drop. I think they are $70-80. There are cheaper ones out there but they look it also.

your seat is your biggest problem. Unless you lower the front another inch or more you are not going to see much of a difference in the back due to the pivot angle of the bike now being in the front.

No the seat was custom made to put me closer to the gas tank to reach the front controls better and it was also cut out so its lower. I can handle the bike I just want it even lower. About another inch or so.

FYI my insurance cos (AmFam) has a clause that voids coverage if your bike is lowered.

I have to agree, that seat may put you closer to the tank but it is no lower than stock - in fact it looks quite a bit higher.

The lower you go the poorer your ride quality is likely to get and the less ground clearance you will have, for going round corners. These are bad enough on a stock bike!

An alternative approach is to bring the ground closer to you, by using riding boots with thick soles and high heels. If you don't have them, buy proper motorcycling boots made that way.
