YES! That was what he was talking about. I just sent him the link. We are repainting his bike soon and this will be the tank we will use. Thanks for all the replies and thanks gpsjr10 for the link.
He obviously likes the look of the peanut tank but doesn't like going to the gas pump so often. But in my opinion if you had a "blown-up" version of the peanut it would cease to look like the peanut therefore defeating the purpose. Seems to me he might also find it would create a top-heavy feel being larger and higher off the frame raising the center of gravity - just sayin'.

Surprisingly not. The one I did was the same shape and size (profile), the only difference was the fact that it was about an inch and a half wider, sitting side by side it was not a very noticeable difference when viewed from the top, and none when viewed from the side.
I'll reserve actual judgment till I have the sucker in my hand, but thats actually more capacity than the 4.09 gallons my Low Rider is rated at. Hell, if its "all that", I'll order one up for my bike. I can't believe it would be too tough to make one fit a Dyna frame. Very similar backbones.... I think?
Isn't that tank from J&P the same thing that's on a Custom model?
damn sure appears to be anyway? my 3.3 IS my travel tank, don't think i would want anything bigger than that on my 48. best of luck and dont be shy with the pictures!
It looks quite similar to my 2008, 1200 XLC 105th stock 4.5 gal tank. It will go for a while but I would look for a bigger unit if I could find such a beast. IMO the peanut style goes well with the bike, wider and taller would help the look on my 105th as I have it setup.
I considered raising the tank for a better look.
I do wish it had the center console as the larger bikes do but accept that cost is a factor in all of this.
Good luck with the build & post pics.
PS: Love the springer front end on the pictured bike!
