Hey guys, just wanting to know what type of "dremel" or tool to use to chop my fender supports on the 48 sporty. I will chop my fender first and see how i like the look, if i don't like it ill be cutting everything off down to the shock support. Just needing to know which tools/cutting wheels and buffers i need to get the cutting done easilly and buffing wheel to get to smooth out the edges after cutting is complete. Is there a place where i can get some good black paint to touch up the bare metal exposed after im done cutting/buffing? Need some close to the original black paint on the 48. I will be going to lowes or home depot tonight after work.
Dremel tool with the re-enforced cut off blade/wheels should work for the fender. Just tape it off first and mark your cut line in on the tape to keep the paint from chipping off the edge. On the fender struts, yes, you'll need something heavier duty like an air or elctric grinder with a cut off wheel, or a recipricating saw & numerous blades.
In no particular order:
Hack saw, band saw, sabre saw, chop saw, circular saw with a metal blade, right angle grinder, dremel, tin snips
Finish/shape with a belt sander or file, prime and paint.

If you need funds to buy tools to chop your fenders, why not trade me your black fenders for my cool blue 2011 nightster fenders + a little cash, and then get it painted?
