Removing Front Signals?

Removing Front Signals?
I would like to possibly remove the front signal lights. I understand I need to use some kind of "resistor" so the rear signals will continue to function.
I have a 1991 XLH and I can see a connector under the headlight eyebrow for each signal, looks like I can disconnect easily. Then what do I do?
I'm repainting my lower tree and need to pull them off anyway, just wondered if I can lose them.
