What I like about the 72 is that HD is back to the skinny front tire, which I really like. And I also dig the old school look.
I also like the skinny front tire on the Sporty. I think it handles just fine & I ride most days year around also. I've never had an issue with the skinny tire, except that as someone said, it does wear out quickly....replaced at 10,000 miles for me.

I dig the look. As I said before, I'm planning on trading for a Super Glide soon, but I just keep staring at the 72 pics. I gotta see one in person.
It makes a lot more sense for me to get a Super Glide (& I likely still will), but I'm just drawn to the 72 also. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to trade Sporty for Sporty since there is nothing wrong with mine, but I gotta admit I would consider it just because I love the look of the 72 + I know a lot about Sportys and how to work on them, parts, etc.. Getting a Dyna is going to be a whole new learning curve.
I've always loved the style of the Nightster, but I also like chrome, 21" front tires & mini-apes...the 72 seems to combine all this into one bike.
The only downside I can see is the 2.1 gallon peanut tank...looks awesome, but not much good on longer rides when I'm used to a 4.5 & the Dyna has a 5.
on the sporty the skinny front tire looks way better, but they suck on the freeway, they catch every groove and when your blasting at 80 mph it feels like its getting squirley, other than that I love them!

I'll give ya that....guess I'm just used to it & don't think much about it anymore, but you are right...gotta watch out for the grooves with the skinny!
badass bike, i love it comes with mini-apes and whitewalls already. My local dealer just got one in today and the pictures dont do that color justice, its a high metal flake and looks awsome in the sun
