A man of taste! I love Avons and have used them on my Harleys for decades, Venoms on my Glide at present. If you're willing to change both you will get the best benefit from changing to Venoms that way. They ride smoother and grip better than most tyres. Would be a great start for your 'new' bike!
I'm only hesitant because the rear tire still has lots of tread left, so I don't NEED to replace the rear. I really should keep the rear Dunlop for now and just make sure I wear it out ASAP.
Locally, there's only a $4 difference between the front Dunlop vs. Avon Venom, so makes no real difference cost wise.
If tires are on your mind, replace both of 'em and have all thoughts directed to the cagers that are trying to get you. If you get good tires and work done ok and balancing ok, the improvement in the ride and handling is well worth it. Including the safety factor of new tires. Do it and smile every time you think of it, if done the right way.

FYI - You can get the (front) 100/90-19 Avon Venom w/FREE shipping delivered to your door in 3 days for $107.99.

Any tire older than 6 years, even if it has never been mounted or used, and looks new, still will have degradation and should be discarded. So your front is about at the limit, I would replace it soon.

Yeah, as soon as I get my bike back together, and the ice melts off the streets, Ill replace the front with the Avon Venom. I'm on the fence about the rear.
This thread already went in the direction I was thinking. Just replace, if for no other reason than to get something other than Dunlop. I run Metzler tires, but the Avon is a good option.
If you just hate to replace a rear Dunlop tire with good tread, find a burn out contest. That will take care of the good tread problem. LOL
My "new" Sporty has the original tires from 1990. When I went to look at the bike, the road was wet and I wouldn't ride it, and the original owner couldn't believe that the old tires had anything wrong. They even FEEL like plastic and not rubber. I'll ride it slow home and park it until I swap the tires out. Not worth the risk!!!
Good advice on the tire brands, I was going to ask what tires to go with.
