Default Camping

I'm looking to take my sporty on a camping trip. Not far and probably just overnight. What's the best setup for this? Do I just need a sissy bar? I would need to strap a small tent and backpack. Any suggestions on a good rack for this and how you secure the luggage is appreciated. Thank guys

Just a backrest and a T-bag of some sort...a luggage rack helps.

Hey man search "camping gear" a thread that I posted and people gave me a ton of great advice and links to websites. I went with the hD one piece sissy bar I would highly recommend it. Works great for two-up riding and you can strap a ton of gear to it !! And when you dont want it on there it detactches in 5 seconds. Good luck on your trip

There's a thread on here this week full of great ideas and information from people who've already learned what works and doesn't.

Have fun, camping is a great way to go.

Hey Ironboy, I saw that thread and read the first couple posts and it looked like a thread for the best tent. Should have kept reading. Is the hd backrest the one in your sig? Do you just bungee the gear to the sissy bar? My wife won't go anywhere near my bike so I only ride solo with solo seat. Would I just put a towel underneath the gear to keep from scratching the fender or do they sell some type of protection for that?

About the rear fender being covered, yes, you could put a towel down. They also sell fender bibs which cover the part exposed from not having a passenger part to the seat. Somewhat like this - https://www.denniskirk.com/mustang/f...prd/493851.sku
