Exactly, they really are dangerous to leave on IMO. They can catch very easily in a crack on the road.
I took mine off the first day. I would rather have a flat peg scrape than damn stakes hanging off the pegs.
I like it scrapping, makes me know I'm getting close to my lean limits. The peg is designed to flip up on a angle when something on the turn hits it. It is very rare that the feeler gets caught in a crack.
