RE: If you had to choose another model, what would it be?
I am planning to buy s Superglide next spring, or perhaps a Street Glide. If money was no option, i'd take the CVO Dyna which our local dealer has at 37K CDN.

I'd have to vote for the Deuce.I like the Streetbobs alot but they are popping up everywhere around here.Don't get me wrong. It's an awesome looking ride.I've liked the Deuce ever since they came out.I got a really good look at my dad's boss' 2004 Deuce with a factory custom paint job.Beautiful bike and felt very good just sitting on it.No rides, just sat on it and fired it up,but me likey very much.
RE: If you had to choose another model, what would it be?
I would have to say that I would want to get a Buell XB12R. I would keep the sportster and add that as a second bike for when I am riding by myself. They are a sweet bike that will rip the corners. Just looked at one yesterday at the shop. But the boss was with and she said she liked it but you already have a bike.[sm=forgetit.gif]
RE: If you had to choose another model, what would it be?
This was not a hypothetical question for me...I traded a hotrod Sporty in and got a Dyna SG Custom ('07). Reason: wife wanted her own ride, got a used '02 Triumph Bonneville and my hotrod was not really suitable for riding together (2.2 peanut tank, and a thirst for cocktail fuel since I moved to Calif.).
So, the new Dyna's with the 96" engine and the 6-speed fit my needs...also, it recalls my '75 SuperGlide. Nostalgia thing.
RE: If you had to choose another model, what would it be?
Triumph Bonneville America , I had one.
Fool I am I let it go ...
Sits like a Road King, weighs like a Sportster .
Also faster than a Sportster with less engine ...
Zero vibration.
Not top heavy like Sportster, low heavy.
Does not want to fall to the left.

I have to agree with old fender guy. I love the look of the softtail fatboy! If could have any bike without dought I would own a fatboy set up just like yours old fender guy!!
However, right now I own a sportster I love it and I am grateful for it!!!

The FatBoy is a great second bike...
I thought about getting a Deuce, but after spending time with both the Deuce and FatBoy the choice was easy to make when it came to "long range cruising in style" bike.
Many folks don't realize that the Softail Deuce and Fatboy are pretty much one of the same except for some bolt on items. They have the same frame, same engine, same exhaust, etc. The Fatboy has longer fender to help in rain, very comfortable floorboards instead of just highway pegs, and larger covers (for looks) over the same front tubes. One of the main differences is that the Fatboy has a wider 16" front wheel/tire while the Deuce runs the skinny 21" wheel/tire. I think the weight difference between the Deuce and Fatboy is only 35 pounds of so. I also think the Fatboy looks better dressed than the Deuce when you add the saddlebags, windshield, and backrest/luggage rack (which take all of 60 seconds or so to add or remove)..
