I am new to the forum and am looking for some advice. I have been casually looking into buying a Nightster. I went to talk to a dealer today about a used one and I am looking for some input on the deal. The bike is a 2008 Nightster with 14,000mi. The bike does have some mods (Vance and Hines side shots, progressive shocks, security system, oil cooler). They are asking $8300 and are unwilling to negotiate. What do you guys think about the deal?
I think it's a **** deal. Here's what up. My bike is valued @ $8k give or take. My mods are in the sig. If I went to trade it in at a dealer today I'd maybe get 5.5-6k. If I sold it myself, maybe 7k?
The deal sucks frankly. Not to mention taxes and tags on that too.
I say buy one here from a fellow forum member. You'll get a better deal and a real history on the bike while helping a member move on...It's a win-win!
This is why I'm just adding to the stable, I'll never sell my nightster unless some rich ***** kid with mommy and daddies money wants to buy it from me in which I'll tell him I bought it for 15k but will part with it for 12k hahah. You can find a good nightster for around 6k stock and maybe a lil higher with a full stage I. Good luck man
