trikes or moped/scooters always get a thumbs down. its the best when someone on a can am spyder rides by looking all happy, they wave to me, I shake my head and give them a thumbs down, you should see the look on their faces, its so funny!
So, what's everyone's take on waving to / acknowledging trikes or moped/scooters? Kind of a grey issue with me, I never know if I should, but usually I do, because I figure they are out enjoying life on the open road also.
Chris
I wave to everybody. Could give a crap whether they wave back as I only have myself to answer to in regards to my Character. Was broke down on side of road a couple years ago and was passed by several Harleys and Metrics. Only one that stopped to see if I was OK or needed anything was a +- 18 year old on a 49cc scooter who stopped and asked if I needed any help.
+1. If you aren't in a cage, you get a wave from me.
Okay, good to hear. I'm never quite sure cause I think, what, you can't handle a motorcycle? But then I saw a tv show a while back, some guy in a wheelchair modded a trike that he could wheel himself in and ride. That would figure if I didn't wave to a trike and then saw a wheelchair as I rode by.
If you would have just done a search on this you would have found a multiple page thread that was started long ago about this instead of making a new thread and getting all the same answers all over again :\

I agree with this statement, i have a good friend of mine with a debilitating disease that he is only able to ride a can am now. Motorcycles are his passion but his body is not the same.
I address riders when they address me but i dont feel obligated to do so, specially when i am riding on curves.

that may be true but i didnt feel much like searching and digging up old threads. Is it really going to hurt to discuss it? No need to be a debbie downer friend just trying to have some fun after a good day of riding.
