I'm thinking about getting the Harley Davidson mini ape for my 2007 nightster. I know I'll have to get a longer brake line but do I need to get anything else or will all the other stock cables work? Thanks in advance for all comments.
I'm looking to get apes on mine (rather large ones) so I've looked into it, from trauling youtube and that i think if you only want mini 10" narrow apes you can use the stock cables but if you want wider apes probably not.
If i wanted say 10" apes id just buy em, try to fit them and if i need longer cables order them.
Just a note, my friend has an iron and his stock bars where a lot shorter than mine, so the nightster does have longer cables than the iron, he's fitting drag bars on his and because they are much wider he has had to get an extended cable kit, dare i say drag bars would just bolt straight onto a nightster....

My bet is yes, you're correct. My Keystones + Riser extensions are 10" from the triple tree. I needed a new brake line everything else was okay. I tried doing the same and using the stock 42" cable and it was too short. Ended up ordering a 46" from magnum shielding and it fits great.
