The rears (turn signals) are SINGLE filament. The Run, Brake and Turn functions with the single filament due to the control module using different voltages on the one filament.
Then HD messed up. They put double filament bulbs in both my rear lights AND double filament sockets in both rear lights from the factory. My front turn/running lights, from the factory, are single filament.

A lower voltage for the running lights, and then a stepped up voltage for the turn and brake function. If you have a center, fender mounted run/brake light, it's a double filament.

Just installed a load equalizer on my bike, it has single filament bulbs and they work as brake run turn just fine

I guess you didn't read my post. From the factory my 48 has single filament in front(running & turn) and dual filament in rear(running, turn & brake). Yours may be different. I'm trying to figure out my situation.
Just find some 1157 red bulbs and you'll be fine. That's what I did and have been running them like that for over a year. 1157 in red is what you'll need.
The late model bikes without a fender mounted brake light use the turn signals as brake lights. They take a 1157 bulbs. There are red 1157 bulbs avalable but all the ones I found look more pink than red. They make 1157 led bulbs but very few fit due to the housing for the LEDs attached to the 1157 bottom, trust me I have tried many.
The part stores do not carry standard 1157 bulbs in red. You have to order them.
I suggest you search eBay for red 1157 bulbs, jus make sure they say they will fit Harley signal housings.

My buddy had the 1157 red bulbs. After all the "nice pink lights" comments he pulled them for red lenses. I have smoke lenses on my rides & I switched to LED's with run/brake/turn signals. Great move!
I have a 2012 48 and had the same problem. Go to the dealer and they have dark red bulbs. I couldn't find them at the local car part shops. I got a pair for like 4 dollars and they work as they are supposed to.
