I removed the top and slid down, super easy. I didn't re-torque the top bolt as it required little to no effort to remove, so I just snugged it. But yes, taking the top off was super easy
I just loosened the tree bolts, used a jack and slid the front end down. You don't need to remove the wheel. Either way works. Tree pinch bolts need 32 inch lbs of torque, btw.

I wasnt really concerned with the pinch bolts as they just pinch to hold the forks, I was a little concerned with that big top torx bolt that holds the whole stem and bearing together, but everything on mine turned out ok...for now lol
