Oh boy are you in for an adventure!I couldn't get my shifter peg off to save my soul, and thought I was just a weak female. Tried heat...no go. So I asked a couple riding buddies to come help me. It took 2 guys with 2 long-handled wrenches twisting simultaneously to get the peg off. Ends up they put them on with red lock-tite. I didn't feel so bad after I watched the guys struggle.

Good luck!

Step #1. Remove shifter arm from bike...... Ensure that you mark where the gap is on the shifer shaft.....

#2. Put stock shifter peg (Still attached to arm) in vice and clamp down....

#3. Lefty Loosey.....

#4. Install new shifter peg (Red Loctite threads)......

#5. Reinstall on bike......

As far as the footpegs, easy as pie....

take shifter off of bike and put it in a vise and use a tourch to heat up the end where foot shifter is really hot and it will come right off. the chrome will turn color with heat but it will polish right out trust me thats what i did and it worked great.

That's what I do as well; remove the shifter with peg attached, put the peg in a vise, and turn the shifter to remove the peg.

Sometimes they are on pretty tight..

Mine came off without any problems. Used a pair of vice grips on it. When you change out the foot pegs watch out for the spring washer that holds the peg up when not in use.

I just got on mine with a pair of vise grips, it came right off. I used new snap rings when I put on the pegs because the stockers got misshaped taking them off. Use locktite.

My shift peg came off with vice grips also. Tight, but came off. I second the notion to watch the spring on the foot pegs. I wasn't aware of it then I heard anoise like dropping a washer when I removed the peg, had to look at the other side to see how it was installed.

Are you guys removing the rubber on the stock shifter peg before taking the vice grips to it, or just clamping down on the rubber and twisting off?

Vice grips are the key.

I tried all manner of things prior. Cranking on the bolt while using a torch, stripped it so I had to try a bolt remover to no avail. Next I tried to drill it out...ruined a few bits, no dice. Vice grips and few mins later it was off. Yes, peeled the rubber back and used the grips on the bolt.
