ok guys this has prob been asked time and time again, if you were to put after market pipes on your sportster, or remove baffles from the stock pipes, but didnt add a fuel pak, whats the worst case scenario that can happen to the engine, (efi models) mines a 2009, cheers
No. Check your plugs, if they are white you are running lean. If not your o.k. The stock ecm will make some adjustments to modifications. Removing the baffles will cause a drastic change in the air flow though. As far as the fuel pak goes, everyone has their opinion on that. I Changed the air box and pipes on this bike and probably could have gone without a tuner. What pipes do you have, or are looking for?
ive put wyatt gattling, screamin eagle ll replicas on, getting a mixed response as too what needs doing, hogparts uk where i bought them from says no mods needed, yet i emailed the manufactorers and they said a fuel pak my be required, last thing i want to do is ruin the engine

You're '09 has O2 sensors and is set up, from the factory, to run lean in closed loop mode. So it will be lean before you do anything to it, and it will still be lean after you modify or change the pipes. That's the entire purpose of the closed loop and feedback from the O2 sensors, to maintain a set, lean AFR at around 14.6:1 and make the EPA happy.
To richen you AFR (with or without any other mods), you can do something like an inline enrichment devise (IED) for about $100 or you can go to a full race tuner type of set up for $500+ that will do more than just adjust the AFR. It's a matter of budget and how far you want to go, or how fast you want to spend.
If you are just looking to richen it up, The X14iED's are an easy, inexpensive option. Here is a post that can offer some information about these and the affect on AFR.
just been reading up on theses thanxs, it says just plug and play, any other mods id need to do or is that it????, is the standard air cleaner ok with it, but thanks guys your help in invaluable and very much appreciated
