actually, I went with 1 left, 1 right. I cant imagine there will be safety issues with it if I make sure the retaining nut is tight... and this way I can adjust the pedal position without taking the whole thing off.

Harley uses right hand thread on both ends but I use right & left hand threads to adjust as you've explained. I still use jam nuts on each rod end though. Not so much for keeping it in adjustment but from keeping the threaded end from vibrating and damaging the threads.

TXBandit's brackets are 3/16". I did have some flex before I started running cross braces though. About as much as in the stock mount itself, but both combined was too much for my comfort. Adding the braces took all the flex out of the extended brackets. His linkages are also like mreed's in that they adjust without removing from the bike.

Not sure, but he had a sales ad in the classifieds. I was more trying to give you an idea of what specs to consider if trying to make your own. No way I would use anything less than 3/16".
