Question Front brake handle, loose, brake light comes on

My front brake handle has a little slack in it so the brake light will come on if I barely touch it, seams to get better when I ride it but is there a way to tighten the lever up (push it out) I can see there is a spring behind it but I havent opened up the housing yet. not sure if this is a common issue,

Have you checked the brake line and fluid level? Sounds like you might have a small leak somewhere.

Do what SportyPig said, it's an easy check. The other thing it could be is thin brake pads. They make it so there is a bit more play in the lever. Finally, a master cylinder rebuild kit comes with a replacement spring, although my 10 year old spring is still fine.

I got new pads on order, I though about that later, with the pads worn it might give the lever a bit more slack, I just thought it was common since when you go down the road it tightens up and gets a whole lot better, (heat expansion?) dunno
