Default Carb to EFI...How difficult?

My girlfriend has a 1999 XL1200S. I was wondering how difficult it would be to modify and change it from carburated to Fuel Injected. Any suggestions and opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

RB Racing sells EFI kits for Harleys. I'd check their website and give them a call. There are quit a few changes that would have to be made and I would say it'll be expensive.

Honestly, it's pretty expensive. For example:

You'd probably be better off selling her bike and searching for an EFI model.

Expensive and difficult. The capacity of the electrical system will have to be increased to provide power for running fuel pump, and additional electronics. Then modifications to the bike will be necessary to provide a place to mount the extra electronics, fuel pump, etc.

That's just the first 2 things that are on a long list that come to my mind.

Thanks for the info. I think we will keep it carbed and look at possible getting a new bike. Thanks for all the input.
