Unhappy throttle help

hi guys
today i started up my bike, as im moving around the car park, i release the throttle, but my bike is still chugging forward, i squeezed lightly on both breaks, but my bike was still moving forward as if i was pulling back on the throttle.
clutch in and harder breaking got me to a stop.
i was only doing 10-15mph.

so has anyone else had this issue?
would not letting it warm up for long enough cause this?

oh its a 2011 iron

Follow the throttle cable to the engine and you'll see a little wheel, which rotates as you move the throttle (think its called an actuator). If you like, take off the A/C to get a good look. My hunch is that your cable got snagged somehow. Next time switch the bike off immediately. Hope this helps.

Are you sure the clutch is adjusted properly. Based on your description, it sounds like a clutch issue.

If the clutch is adjusted correctly and pulled in, the bike shouldn't move forward regardless of where the throttle is.

did you check the little star shaped wheel just under the throttle grip ? sometimes it gets tweaked and binds the throttle open .

A little confusing on what you were doing? the bike would still move forward or stall even with the throttle released if you did not have the clutch pulled in. If you did have the clutch pulled in and it was still chugging and moving forward then it is time to look at the clutch adjustment. hope this helps.

thanks for the input guys,
i checked the throttle friction wheel (just made that up, not sure what its called) as this was happening, this was my first thought. it wasnt that.

the clutch was not pulled in.
in my experience when you let go of your throttle and dont pull your clutch in while lightly breaking then the bike will slow down and stall, not keep pulling forward.
to me it felt like the throttle was slightly stuck on.

while riding home last night the problem had gone away

ok, same thing happened again today, while the engine was cold for the first few minutes.
after it warmed up it was ok. strange right.
its not a huge problem, i just pull the clutch in n its ok.
seems strange to me though
