2006 883C Brake Pad Issue
They changed the rear tire and did nothing with the brakes. After they serviced it (hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars later) my rear brakes were making a squeeking and funny vibrating noise when I'm stopping. I brought it back after 300 miles, thought the noise was a piece of crap stuck in there, and they spent about an hour looking at it, lubed the caliper, changed a spring in the caliper, and said they couldn't find anything other than the pads wearing wierd. Both pads were worn at an angle, plenty of pad left, just wearing not even. I had them lube the caliper, they sugjested changing the spring, and I'm going to change the pads myself, should be easy enough. They only charged me four or six bucks for the spring, nothing for the labor after such an expensive service. Glad for that, dealer is TSI Ellington, used to use TSI Columbia (and loved them) and they closed early this year. What would cause the pads to wear so unevenly, I mean the front side of each pad is worn, and the back side has more meat left on it. Not like the inside one or the outside one is wearing more than the other, the front of each pad is wearing more than the rear of the pad. Done many brake changes on cars before, never seen pads wear like this.
Thanks!
Ed
